Each province in Canada has its own driving test so depending on your location the relevant test needs to be selected. In Ontario the tests available are the G1, G2, M1 and M2 tests. Before you are able to drive and practise your skills, a theory test must be passed first so an understanding of road signs and what they mean is gained.
To drive in Canada, a candidate must meet the following requirements beforehand: at least 16 years old at the time of application, meet the vision standards, pass a knowledge test on the rules of the road and then pass two road tests to obtain a full licence.
In order to take a Canadian Road Test your vehicle must be roadworthy and meet safety requirements before the test can take place. Getting as much practice as possible is the key to passing your road test, an experienced driver will need to accompany you in the car. A driver training program will be led by an experienced instructor who will train you on everything needed for your road test.
